Álvaro Iriarte earned his law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Since 2007, he has been an assistant professor and since 2016 has taught legal history at Universidad Autónoma de Chile. He joined Instituto Res Publica in 2010 as an advisor in legal issues, and since 2015, he is the program manager (Director de Fomación). Prior to joining Instituto Res Publica, he worked as a lawyer in the Natural Resources and Energy department of the law buffet Claro y Cia. He researches and writes about property right and economic freedom and also focuses on political thought and history of ideas. Álvaro is a columnist at the Chilean financial newspaper El Pulso and also at a local newspaper in the north of the country.
