Dr. Amit Chandra currently works as Associate Director – Policy Advisory with Centre for Civil Society, a Delhi-based public policy research think tank of international repute. His work majorly focusses on issues around education and livelihood policies. He is also policy advisor to National Independent Schools Association (NISA), a national federation of state associations of low cost private schools in India. He has successfully led Jeevika Campaign which helped shape legislation in Rajasthan and Bihar recognizing street vending as one’s legitimate occupation. He graduated in Commerce, post graduated in Social Work, and received Doctorate of Philosophy for thesis on the issue of cycle rickshaws in Delhi. He has a rich experience in strategic planning, program designing and leading campaign.
