Draga Gajić was born in 1988 in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She graduated at the top of her class from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. Draga also earned two master’s degrees; one in gender studies from the University of Novi Sad (Serbia) and the other in political science from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka. To complement her studies, Draga audited the graduate-level course “Gender Equality in the Nordic Countries” at the University of Oslo in Norway. She is the author of four books in the field of gender studies, women’s history, women’s heritage, gender and peace, art and peace-building. Her main areas of interest are: women’s history, women’s heritage, peace studies, peace and gender, gender and art, gender and disabilities. For the last decade, she has been an activist in the field of peace, women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment. As a volunteer, she works with kids and youth with disabilities, especially with deaf and hard-of-hearing youth. Since January 2016, Draga is the Executive Director at an NGO called Udruženje za kulturu, afirmaciju i savjetovanje KAS in her hometown of Banja Luka. Draga is an award-winning photographer and she has participated in more than 40 group photo exhibitions both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally.
