Dr. John Humphreys is a research associate with the Centre for Independent Studies, casual lecturer of economics at the University of Queensland, and deputy director of the Australian Taxpayers Alliance. He has worked previously for the Australian Treasury, and then as a consultant, with clients including the World Bank and ASEAN. John was the founder of the Australian Libertarian Society and the Liberal Democrats (Australia's libertarian political party), and the co-founder of the Friedman Conference (largest annual liberty event in the Asia-Pacific) and the Australian Liberty Awards. His is the author of two books and dozens of articles, covering topics ranging from tax analysis to terrorism.
