Join Atlas Network on Wednesday, February 21, at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota, Fla., for a luncheon featuring Mark Littlewood, Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

The IEA is the United Kingdom’s original and largest free-market think tank, and was Margaret Thatcher’s favorite think tank.

The UK shocked the world in June 2016 when its citizens voted by referendum to leave the European Union (EU). Once the UK departs – which is scheduled to take place in March 2019 – the country will retake control of numerous policy areas, including trade, agriculture, and a large swath of regulatory powers.

Mark will discuss the risks and opportunities of the UK’s decision to leave the EU. Will the UK use the opportunity to chart a new free-trading, buccaneering course outside the EU? Or will it instead chart a course towards socialism, far worse than anything you could imagine of Bernie Sanders?

Dress is business casual.

Mark Littlewood is the Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs and the IEA’s Ralph Harris Fellow. Since his appointment in 2009, Mark has been instrumental in expanding the IEA’s reach, both inside and outside Britain. He was recently ranked number 45 on the right-wing power list.

Mark is recognised as a powerful spokesman for free markets and features as a regular guest on flagship political programs such as BBC Question Time, Newsnight and the Today Program. He writes a regular column for The Times and features in many other print and broadcast media such as The Telegraph, City AM and Any Questions. Mark campaigned strongly for Brexit and hopes to see an open, global and free-trading Britain post Brexit.
