The Fund for Ameriacn Studies (TFAS), continuing in its 25 year tradition of international programs, will be hosting the Institute for Leadership in the Americas (ILA) program in Santiago, Chile. Roughly 50 students throughout Latin America, the United States and Canada who have a passion for international affairs will come together to discuss complex contemporary issues in a diverse academic setting.
Students will be engaged in rigorous study of economics, political theory, and the bases for the rule of law and institutional governance. Located in Chile - called an "oasis of progress" in South America for its economic growth and political stability - this program allows participants to study the foundations of Chile's progress and to learn about the political and economic necessities of a free society. The classes, conversations, and debates that participants have at ILA will benefit their educational and professional development.
TFAS' comprehensive package includes academic credit through the University of the Andes, a university known throughout the region for its academic excellence and its beautiful campus, as well as housing, most meals, a variety of notable guest lectures, cultural and social events, and opportunities for professional development and networking.
Students will be joining a global network of future leaders, including 17,000 alumni of ILA programs.
The deadline for applications is November 15, 2017 and is on a rolling basis.
