SPEAKERS

Ms. Souad Adnane is currently a Fulbright Scholar from Morocco, pursuing her M.A. in Public Policy with a concentration in Women’s Studies at the George Washington University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Cooperation & Human Development and then worked for seven years in the development sector for different international non-governmental organizations. She was responsible for fundraising, coordinating the implementation of different projects aiming at empowering vulnerable communities, and giving trainings on fundraising and project cycle management (among other topics). The last position she occupied was Regional Coordinator of a community development program for the MENA region (with SOS Children’s Villages), which allowed her to travel a lot within the region, acquiring a better understanding of politics and policy-making in each country (with regard to health, education, child protection, women’s empowerment, and economic empowerment of vulnerable groups).

Souad is a founding member of the Arab Center for Scientific Research & Humane Studies, the first classical liberal think tank in the Arab world, based in Morocco and aimed at promoting values of liberty, democracy, toleration, and free markets in the region. She is also a board member of Istanbul Network for Liberty, which explores the principles and values of a free society in the Muslim world.
