Atlas Club Members and sponsors are invited to join Atlas Network for a VIP Reception at Carolands Chateau on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. featuring Fox News Political Analyst and National Review Columnist John Fund. In commemoration of the upcoming 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Fund will speak to the theme of “Fighting for Freedom: 25 years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall,” addressing the barriers to freedom that we face in the United States and abroad. The program will also include brief remarks by Atlas Network CEO Brad Lips and Robin Sitoula, a brave example of Atlas Network's international parnter.  Sitoula founded the think tank, Samriddhi, to promote free-market ideas during the dark days of Nepal's civil war and Maoist take-over.  His organization persevered and is now advising Nepal's new government on economic and constitutional reforms.

Tickets for the VIP Reception are available for Atlas Club Members (Atlas Network’s $1,000 and above giving club) and with Gold and Platinum level sponsorship of the Tuesday, September 9 luncheon at the Marines Memorial Club and Hotel. Atlas Club Members are invited to bring one guest.

Transportation between the Carolands Chateau and the Marines’ Memorial Club and Hotel will be provided. Complimentary Valet Parking will be provided at the event and please note, that as a courtesy its neighbors, Carolands Foundation requires guests to use complimentary Valet Parking. No cars should be parked outside the gates on either side of the building.

Guests are also asked to refrain from wearing narrow or spiked heels that may damage antique floors. Additionally, smoking is not allowed in the Chateau or on its grounds.

SPEAKERS

John Fund is a senior editor of The American Spectator and a former columnist for the Wall Street Journal. He is also a Fox News Political Analyst and National Review columnist. Mr. Fund began his career in journalism after a stint as a policy analyst in the California State Legislature. He worked for syndicated columnists Rowland Evans and Robert Novak as their investigative reporter before joining the Wall Street Journal, where he has been deputy editorial features editor and a member of the Editorial Board. He is the author of three books: Cleaning House: America’s Campaign for Term Limits, Regulation Through Litigation, and Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy.

Robin Sitoula is the founder and executive director of Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation in Nepal. He has more than twelve years of experience in policy advocacy for economic freedom and prosperity. Besides working at Samriddhi, he runs private enterprises namely in the sector of management consulting and research and analytics as a vocation. As Executive Director of Samriddhi, he has designed and implemented several research, educational and advocacy programs in areas of entrepreneurship, economic growth, business environment, and freedom & democracy and built a reliable team that resulted to an award-winning institute. He has worked with eight major political youth organizations of Nepal for several years and established one of the largest collaborative leadership programs amongst contesting parties in Nepal. In his prior work as secretary general and Director at Youth Initiative, he was able to expand the organization’s scope of work and out reach from the capital centric to ten strategic locations covering the whole country with programs on democracy, civic participation and leadership. During 2005 and 2006, he extensively traveled South Asia to identify and help build capacities of youth organizations in the region to be able to better promote democracy and freedom. He has been a fellow at Atlas Network since 2006. He graduated in Investments and Financial Management from the Tribhuwan University in Nepal.
