Atlas Network is excited to welcome John Tierney to speak at this year’s Liberty Forum. Tierney writes a regular science column, “Findings”, in the New York Times and published a book in 2011 called Willpower: Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength. His book is about the psychology of self-control, the quintessential human virtue that is vital to any kind of personal or professional success, as well as the libertarian belief in individual freedom and responsibility. Tierney compares willpower to a physical muscle, strengthened through exercise but able to be exhausted through overuse.
Earlier this year, the Competitive Enterprise Institute honored John Tierney for his book. Amazon named it “one of the best books of the year.”
Tierney will be giving a talk called “Working Smart” over breakfast at Liberty Forum on Thursday, November 13. He will explain how to apply science to the art of business, offering research-based strategies for working smarter and living better. Willpower has proven to be a primary ingredient in success, and learning to manage mental energy is key to happiness, health and security.
