On July 15, 2014, Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon of Missouri signed into law Right To Try legislation that gives some patients the ability to procure drugs not yet approved for market by the Food and Drug Administration. Missouri follows Colorado and Louisiana as the third state to enact such legislation, and Arizona will have the topic on its ballot in November 2014. The initiative has received notable media attention as in this USA Today editorial and this appearance by the Goldwater Institute’s CEO Darcy Olsen on the Stossel Show with John Stossel on Fox Business Network.
