Atlas Network is saddened by the passing of Carlos Atilio Ball. Ball was a leading Venezuelan journalist and champion for liberty, and he died in exile at his Florida home on July 10, 2014. He was 74. Ball was a Cato Institute scholar, a member of the Mont Pelerin Society and the founder of Inter American Press Association, an organization that offered syndicated columns with classical liberal perspectives to newspapers around Latin America, the United States and Spain between the year 1991 and 2010. Atlas Network would like to recognize and honor Ball, a man who dedicated his life to the promotion of the principles of a free society and the advancement of freedom. He will certainly be missed.
