The Associate Director of Innovation Lab will work to help shape Atlas Network’s future innovation path, identify new organizational and programmatic opportunities, facilitate effective collaboration across the lab's portfolio in delivering key initiatives, and analyze our performance against organizational and lab goals. This role will help shape and develop initiatives in conjunction with the CIO and key Innovation Lab contractors, oversee the operationalizing a subset of those initiatives, and develop solutions for roadblocks. The Associate Director of Innovation Lab will be responsible for developing metrics and evaluation mechanisms to assess Atlas Network Innovation Lab’s overall organizational health and program effectiveness and impact. In conjunction with the Director of Strategic Operations, this role will also ensure timely reporting for large individual and foundation grants where funding has been provided for the Innovation Lab and its initiatives.
Core responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Work with center and initiative leads to design operational systems that efficiently define department’s roles in projects and achieve the goals/targets for the projects
Lead quarterly program review meetings
Advise Innovation Lab contract staff on how new grant proposals would become operational, if approved.
Provide scoping review for new funding opportunities, as identified internal stakeholders, with relevant department heads
Facilitate the process between Innovation Lab and development to streamline and refine pitches to donors.
Establish clear connection with grant proposals and Atlas Network’s overarching Innovation Lab’s strategies.
Oversee the scoping of projects to ensure clear definition of responsibilities, expectations, timelines, resources, and ownership.
Create systems that enable project owners to track their budgets and make timely financial decisions.
Coordinate with project owners to establish plans for spending and program execution - provide updates at quarterly meetings.
Perform analysis on effectiveness of Atlas Network’s Innovation Lab activities
Lead the development of metrics to evaluate program performance within programs
Facilitate project contract staff in developing outputs and outcomes for new initiatives
Drive the Innovation Lab's evaluation process
Conduct regular program audits for the Innovation Lab initiative portfolio
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in strategy development or organizational strategy roles
Experience working with executive leadership
Experience in project management, project management tools, and leading teams and contractors remotely
Experience in budgeting and financial management
Ability to simultaneously manage and execute multiple strategic initiatives
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or related field
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Ability to travel 20%, on average
Location:
Preference will be given for candidates that live within the DC Metro area. We will not be considering international applicants.

This position is located in Arlington, VA near the Ballston Metro Station. This position is full-time and in person with an option for a hybrid schedule. As a global organization, some domestic and international travel may be required.
