Awarded since 2004, the Templeton Freedom Award is named for the late investor and philanthropist Sir John Templeton. The award annually identifies and recognizes the most exceptional and innovative contributions to the understanding of free enterprise, and the public policies that encourage prosperity, innovation and human fulfillment via free competition.

This digital retrospective includes a comprehensive list of all past winners of the Templeton Freedom Award from 2004 to 2014. Also, it honors and looks back at the life of Sir John Templeton and the cause of human freedom.

Sir John Templeton said, “Over twenty years ago, my friend Sir Antony Fisher, the founder
of Atlas [Network], helped me understand better the benefits accrued by all people worldwide from keeping government small and by continually opening wider the incentives for innovation, efficiency and discovery which result from more free competition.” -Sir John Templeton, 2004
