A panel of judges at Europe Liberty Forum 2024 chose Alessio Cotroneo of Italy-based Atlas Network partner Istituto Liberale as the winner of the Europe Think Tank Shark Tank competition and its US$15,000 prize.
This award and its grant prize will support his organization as they invest in their project, "Economics in Schools: Teaching What Public Schools Don't." This initiative aims to fill the gap in Italian high schools' curriculum by providing comprehensive economics education. Through engaging workshops and interactive learning experiences, the project will address prevalent misconceptions about the market and capitalism. Its ultimate goal is to cultivate a generation that values economic freedom, empowering them to pursue innovation and personal success in a free society. With this win, they can continue making a difference, and students can become proactive defenders of freedom.
