Atlas Network’s partner, Asociación de Contribuyentes del Perú has been making strides towards spreading awareness of individual liberties throughout Peru and increasing access to basic necessities like clean and accessible drinking water.

The Asociación de Contribuyentes del Perú (ACP), as part of its commitment to the reform of public policies, has been working since 2016 in the water and sanitation sector. Over the last four years, ACP has worked tirelessly to draw attention to the gaps in public policy and problems that prevent vulnerable groups of Peruvian citizens from accessing clean, and usable water.

ACP was able to make a large impact in the lives of thousands of Peruvians by developing a trilogy of mini documentaries called "Without water, there is no paradise." Since their release, the docu-series has accumulated more than 5,500 views on Facebook and have been shared by several local Peruvian and International organizations.

To generate awareness about the lack of clean and accessible drinking water in Peru, ACP organized two virtual events where experts analyzed major strategies focused on expanding its coverage and quality. Alongside their analysis, ACP generated a proposal for the national government containing an action plan to begin tackling this issue.

The group also launched an innovative and disruptive education platform, Piensa.pe, which translates to “come on, think!” The purpose behind Piensa.pe is to become the main source of information for the 2021 elections in Peru. The platform contains easy-to-read articles on the most relevant political events and social issues of Peru and Latin America.

Piensa.pe is a platform filled with content written by young authors with the goal of reaching a young audience. More than 20 young leaders are currently involved in this project. This valuable resource helps share the views of young change-makers across Peru that share the same values of freedom in times which socialism, populism and interventionism are stronger than ever.

Asociación de Contribuyentes del Perú continues to work towards increasing individual freedom in Peru by launching virtual events and social media campaigns that promote economic and individual freedom.

Atlas Network supported this project with a grant.
