Dr. Roberto Salinas León will serve as the first director of Atlas Network’s Center for Latin America, to be formally launched in November 2018.

The announcement came at the beginning of this year’s Latin America Liberty Forum held in Santiago, Chile, being jointly hosted by Atlas Network and Fundación para el Progreso.

Atlas Network CEO Brad Lips remarked, “For decades, Atlas Network has been privileged to serve a vibrant community of civil society organizations in Latin America. These independent organizations have improved lives in their countries by advancing sound public policy solutions, based on individual liberty, the rule of law, and the market order. Dr. Salinas will bring new energy and focus to how our team creates value for this network of independent partners here in Latin America.”

Salinas currently serves as President of the Mexico Business Forum, as well as the President of the prestigious Alamos Alliance. He is also an accomplished academic, media commentator, and policy strategist. His full bio is posted here on Atlas Network’s website.

Salinas commented, “The policy landscape of Latin America is very much in flux, so it is a critical time to get involved with Atlas Network and its partners in the region. Together, we are well-positioned to foster effective, homegrown solutions to public policy challenges. I look forward to working with Atlas Network to accomplish great things in Latin America by leveraging its historic strengths – providing management training, project support, outstanding intellectual networking in the region and worldwide, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities for its partners.”

Founded in 1981 (originally as Atlas Economic Research Foundation), Atlas Network works to increase opportunity and prosperity by strengthening a global network of independent civil society organizations that promote individual freedom and remove barriers to human flourishing.

Plans for the inaugural year of Atlas Network’s Center for Latin America will be unveiled at Atlas Network’s 19th annual Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner in New York City, November 7–8, 2018.
