Sherry Romello has 20+ years in the hospitality industry working with various not-for-profit organizations in the Washington DC area.
Sherry worked with several prominent organizations including NACS (convenience and fuel industry), the National Apartment Association, the National Association of Chemical Distributors and the National Park & Recreation Association before being recruited by Hilton Corporation to work on small meeting product development.
Her experience ranges from responsibility for all aspects of large, city-wide conventions to intimate VIP events and has included everything from site-selection, contracting, and execution of the most minute detail of VIP events. Her strengths lie in being a fair and reasonable negotiator and a strong leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others in the meetings and hospitality industry. Sherry received her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from National-Louis University and she held the CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation until 2015.
In 2015, Sherry and her husband, Phil, both retired from full-time corporate work after their son, Douglas, went to college. Sherry continued to do some consulting work for various organizations – FEE, CBRE and Atlas Network.
In their free time, Sherry and Phil are avid cyclists who choose to see the world from the seat of a bike. When they are not exploring the roads in Greenville, they bike the globe – Switzerland, Canada, South Africa, Portugal, India, Chile and Croatia to name a few. After Douglas graduated from Radford University, he too moved to Greenville. Douglas, his wife and their dog, Arya, also live in Greenville.
