Atlas Network Event Terms & Conditions

Your attendance at any Atlas Network Event, including virtual events, indicates your agreement to the following terms and conditions. All event attendees must register in advance of admission to our events. A valid photo ID can be requested for registration and admission.

Decorum

This event is held for the benefit of our think tank partners in the global policy community. Anyone who attempts to attend this event without properly registering may be removed. Atlas Network further reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to physically remove from the premises—or block from virtual participation—any person, regardless of registration status, who in our judgment threatens to disrupt, inhibit, or undermine the quality of this event or the activities of our guests. This policy also applies to anyone who is responsible for bringing another person to the event. “Premises” shall be defined by Atlas Network in consultation with venue management and local law enforcement.

Additional conditions of attendee conduct may apply pursuant to Atlas Network’s agreement with the owner of the event venue as well as local law enforcement. Any person who is removed may be subject to arrest or detention by law enforcement for violation of this policy or the codes of the jurisdiction of the event. Nothing in this policy is designed to infringe speech or conduct on public property. By registering for or attending this event, you agree that Atlas Network as well as its partners, contractors, and vendors assumes no liability for injury, damage or loss which may be related in any way to traveling to, attending, or traveling from this event, or with implementation of this policy.

Emails and Onsite Photography

By registering for and attending Atlas Network Events, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their publication. Images, videos, and/or audio recording may be used to promote this event and similar Atlas Network events in the future and highlight Atlas Network's partners' and the broader network's growth and impact. By registering, you also consent to receive important Event news and reminders via email.

Recording

Atlas Network prohibits all unauthorized audio or video recording, image capture, or any form of transcription and transmission of event presentations and activities, including but not limited to statements by presenters, materials displayed or offered during presentations, and comments by event attendees captured without their express consent. Atlas Network further reserves the right at its sole discretion to authorize select audio or video recording and/or transmission of the event, as well as the taking of photographs during the event. Anyone so authorized agrees to use any and all such recordings or images only with Atlas Network's written consent, and agrees further to make them available without charge to Atlas Network for its unrestricted use. Atlas Network will have anyone conducting unauthorized recording or photography removed from this event, and may pursue at its discretion all available criminal and civil remedies.

Packages

All packages, bags, and other containers are subject to search, and may be required to be stored during the event.

Code of Conduct at Atlas Network Events

  1. All persons attending, supporting, or in the vicinity of an Atlas Network event should be treated and should treat others with respect and dignity regardless of professional status, sex, gender, age, race, marital status, ethnicity, or religion.
  2. The primary purpose of these events is to improve professional relationships among a diverse group of peers representing many cultural backgrounds. Any behavior that threatens to undermine the strengthening of professional ties among all in attendance is discouraged.
  3. No substances should be consumed at any time in excess of a person’s ability to comport themselves professionally.
  4. Atlas Network and/or other event staff may, using their own judgment, elect to approach an individual attendee at any time to provide a reminder of the agreed upon event participation guidelines, if needed.
  5. Atlas Network reserves the right to de-register any attendee at any time in an effort to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of its participants.

COVID-19 Waiver of Liability

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact and that exposure to infection can result from person-to-person contact, breathing, coughing, interacting with other individuals, touching surfaces, and other methods. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited or limited the congregation of groups of people.

Atlas Network has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at hosted events and trainings; however, Atlas Network cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to or become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending Atlas Network’s events and trainings could increase your risk and your family’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending an Atlas Network event or training and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at an Atlas Network event or training may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Atlas Network employees, volunteers, service providers, and program participants and their families. Further, I understand that the risks of COVID-19 are not fully understood, and that contact with, or transmission of, COVID-19 may result in risks including but not limited to loss, personal injury, sickness, death, damage, and expense, the exact nature of which are not currently ascertainable, and all of which are to be considered risks.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with my travel to and attendance at Atlas Network’s events and trainings or participation in Atlas Network programming.

In consideration of attending the Event, on my behalf I, being 18 years of age or older, for myself, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, do hereby forever RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, COVENANT NOT TO SUE, AND HOLD HARMLESS Atlas Network, its past, current, and future employees, officers, directors, volunteers, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto which may be incurred, directly or indirectly, now or in the future, in any way related to COVID-19 and arising out of or relating to or in connection with my attending or participation in the Event or any travel related thereto, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the Event. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Atlas Network, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Atlas Network program.

I expressly agree that this Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by applicable laws, and that if any portion of this Agreement is found or held, for any reason, to be invalid, illegal, void or unenforceable in any respect, the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability shall not impact any other provision of this Agreement, and the remaining portions shall not impact any other provision of this Release, and this Release shall be curtailed, limited or eliminated only to the extent necessary to remove the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability.

This Agreement may be executed, made and delivered electronically. I have read and understood this Agreement and enter into it voluntarily in consideration of the opportunity to participate in the Event. I acknowledge I am giving up legal rights and/or remedies which may be available to me.

Also, I understand that this Event might not be made available to me or that the cost to engage in this Event would be significantly greater if I were to choose not to sign this Release, and agree that the opportunity to participate at the stated cost in return for the execution of this Release is a reasonable bargain.

I agree that I will practice safe social distancing and clean hygiene during my participation at the Event. I voluntarily agree to comply with all safety requirements set forth by the Atlas Network. My failure to comply with such safety requirements may result in loss of right to participate at or attend the Event, including but not limited to safe social distancing and clean hygiene during the Event.

I have carefully read this Release, fully understand its terms and conditions, understand that the terms and conditions are contractual and not a mere recital, that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and have signed it freely and voluntarily without inducement.
